Norway Renews Support for JCPOA"We are not part of the European Union, but we have always supported this agreement; he nuclear deal is an achievement for the NPT and a peaceful resolution of disputes," Nordrum said in a meeting with Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi  in Tehran on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Norwegian ambassador to Iran said that his country welcomes the expansion of cooperation with Iran in various fields.

Nordrum also welcomed facilitation of bilateral banking relations, and expressed the hope that Iran's trade relations with the world, specially with the European countries would increase.

Boroujerdi, for his part, expressed the hope for the expansion of bilateral relations, and said that strengthening of mutual cooperation in various fields, specially trade, is one of his countries' most important priorities.

"We hope the two countries will step in the path of development of political and parliamentary relations," he added.

Under the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as JCPOA, Iran relieved from international sanctions in return for curbs on its nuclear program.

President Trump called for a more restrictive nuclear deal and new constraints on Tehran's missile development and regional clout, issues that are not covered by the JCPOA.
