The sources reported that the army soldiers and Ankara-backed militants pushed the Kurdish fighters back from the villages of al-Zeitouniyeh, al-Jamileh Arab Weiran in Sheran region and the village of Souran and its nearby hills in the latest stage of Operation Olive Branch in Afrin region.
The sources further said that the forces of Operation Olive Branch captured the village of Hayani and two of its hills and the villages of Sharqanli, al-Dafla and Hamlourek in a region between Bolbol and Rajou in Northwestern Aleppo.
Also, the villages of Marvanah Foqani, Marvanah Tahtani, Qolaki and Hajaka in Jandaris region came under attack by the Ankara forces.
The Turkish Army General Staff said in its latest statement on Tuesday that a sum of 1,715 Kurdish gunmen have thus far been killed or held captive in the Turkish army forces' operation in Afrin in Northwestern Aleppo.
The statement said that the Turkish army men and Ankara-backed militants continued Operation Olive Branch against the Kurds in Afrin, adding that a sum of 1,715 Kurdish fighters have been killed or captured in the operation that started on January 20.
