Turkish Army, Allied Militants Occupy More Kurdish-Held Regions in Northern Syria

TEHRAN (defapress)- The Turkish Army troops and Ankara-backed militants continued Operation Olive Branch against Kurdish militias in Afrin Region in Northwestern Aleppo on Tuesday and captured more points, laying siege on a strategic region.

Turkish Army, Allied Militants Occupy More Kurdish-Held Regions in Northern SyriaThe army and allied militants clashed with the Kurds and captured the village of al-Yaji in Sheikh Khoroz and the village of Bolshak and al-Fatirah strategic hills in Sheran region.

The Operation Olive Branch forces further managed to lay siege on the Kurds in Sheran from three directions.

In the meantime, militant-affiliated sources claimed that 687sq/km of Afrin region has been captured by the Turkish forces since January 20, when Operation Olive Branch started. 

The Kurdish-language Hawar news reported on Monday that the Turkish Air Force pounded the Central parts of Jandaris region, killing and wounding a number of civilians.

Hawar news further said that a sum of 21 civilians, including seven children, were killed in artillery and missile attacks by the Turkish troops and Ankara-backed militants in the village of Bobanah in Rajou region.

Also, a woman was killed and several more were wounded in the offensive of the Turkish troops on the village of Qarah Tapah in Afrin region.
