Fresh Kurdish Gunmen Arrive in Northern Syria to Confront Turkish Army

The Arabic-language website of RT reported that a long convoy of the Kurdish fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) accompanied by two US vehicles arrived in Afrin region.

In the meantime, Abu Omar al-Idlib, a spokesman for the Kurdish fighters, reported that at least 1,700 fighters from Raqqa, Deir Ezzur and Hasaka have been transferred to Afrin to face the Turkish troops and their allied militants.

The Turkish army men and Ankara-backed militants captured the strategic town of Jandaris a few hours ago. 

The Arabic-language Elam al-Harbi reported on Wednesday that the SDF called 1,700 gunmen from the battlefields against ISIL and sent them to Afrin to face the Turkish troops and the Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army militants operating under Operation Olive Branch.

More fighters were expected to head towards Afrin region in the coming days, as Kurds prepare for a major battle against the Turkey and Ankara-backed militants.
