Iran Condemns Paris Terrorist AttackTEHRAN (Defapress) – In a statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi denounced the terrorist attack in Paris, expressing sympathy with the families of the victims.

On Saturday evening, a 21-year-old French citizen named by media as Khamzat Asimov attacked people with a knife in central Paris and was shot dead by police after killing a man and injuring four other people. Daesh claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Iranian spokesperson further said the attack reveals the notorious group’s insatiable appetite for being under the spotlight and struggle for survival following its successive defeats in the region.

Those who initiated the ideological foundations of Daesh and provided the terrorist group with financial and military support should be held accountable for all these humanitarian catastrophes in the world, he added.

Qassemi also warned the international community not to be fooled by “the false new slogans of certain sponsors and promoters of radical-Takfiri ideologies”, decrying the double standards and arms sales that have encouraged those terrorism sponsors to continue their destabilizing policies.
