President Rouhani: Iran-Indonesia Ties to Benefit Both Nations, Islamic World

TEHRAN (Defapress)- "I hope that in light of the political will of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Indonesia's leaders and using the existing capacities and capabilities of the two countries, we will witness growing development and expansion of relations in all fields and different levels," Rouhani said in a message to felicitate Indonesia's Independence Day on Saturday.

He added that undoubtedly, growth and development of bilateral, regional and international relations between the two countries will benefit both nations and the Islamic world.

Iran doubled its trade exchanges with Indonesia in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2018-June 22, 2018).

The value of Iran's trade with Indonesia stood at $276.19 million during the said period, showing a 103.1% growth in value compared with last year’s corresponding period.

Iran exported 582,281 tons of commodities worth $240.62 million to Indonesia to register an increase of 149.04% in value year-on-year.

Indonesia was Iran’s 10th biggest export destination during the period. Iran mainly exported liquefied propane, liquefied butane, non-alloy metal and steel ingot to Indonesia.
