Assad emphasizes importance of developing coordination between Iran, Syria

TEHRAN (Defapress) – During the meeting, Assad stressed, “The policies and methods of US and its puppets in the region such as their positions on the Iran nuclear deal, the imposition of sanctions on Russia and attempts to prolong the war in Syria by supporting terrorists affirm the correctness of the policies pursued by the anti-terrorism axis”.

Emphasizing the importance of developing joint coordination between Iran and Syria, Assad said, “The two countries should outline plans to improve long-term cooperation in order to enhance the steadfastness of the Iranian and Syrian nations in the face of the enemies' plots”.

He insisted that the visit shows the depth of Iran-Syria relations.

General Hatami, for his part, stressed on Iran’s position in preserving Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, without any foreign intervention.
