Syrian Army Sends Military Convoy to Badiyeh to Establish Security at Common Borders with IraqField sources in Eastern Syria reported on Thursday that the army's convoy, consisting of hundreds of forces and several vehicles and military equipment, was sent to Syria's Badiyeh region, specially areas near T2 Station and Hamimeh region, at the administrative borderline between Homs and Deir Ezzur.

They added that the Syrian army has strengthened its positions in the region in the past few days, noting that the measure was adopted in line with preparations to purge the ISIL from Southeastern Deir Ezzur and Eastern Homs in Badiyeh region.

Security would prevail in Albu Kamal international road near the borders with Iraq after the Syrian army's cleansing operations against the ISIL in the region.

Sources said on Wednesday that the Syrian army and Air Force had started purging the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur of the remnants of the ISIL terrorist group to establish security at Syria's border with Iraq.

The Syrian army troops engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists in Haribsheh and Shoula Desert in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, killing several of the militants, battlefield sources in Eastern Deir Ezzur said.

The sources said that the Syrian Army was trying to purge the remnants of the terrorists from the surrounding areas of Bukamal and along the borders with Iraq through the operation in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.

They, meantime, said that the Syrian Army had managed to cleanse Palmyra's Badiyeh (desert) in the outskirts of al-Sukhna in Eastern Homs from terrorists.
