“According to the UN charter Article 51a state is permitted to act in #self_defence in response to any military attack; this is an inherent right. Today's strike on US military bases was an act of self defence,” Kadkhodaei tweeted on Wednesday.
In the early hours of Wednesday, the IRGC targeted two US airbases in Iraq, including the US airbase of Ain al-Assad in Anbar province in western Iraq, in retaliation for the US assassination of top Iranian anti-terror commander, Lt. General Qassem Soleimani.
