“The Ten-Day Fajr marks the beginning of a blissful dawn in the ancient land of Iran and with its (the revolution’s) divine glitters, the foundations of the authoritarian system and Shah’s domination and oppression were abolished, and a new chapter in the life of the great nation of Iran began in the light of spirituality, dignity, freedom, and independence,” the message read.

“The glorious Islamic Revolution of Iran, which is based on the luminous teachings of the Ashura… proved that by relying on God, self-esteem, unity and solidarity, we can stand up against the oppressors and tyrants of the world and save a nation from the domination of despotism and colonialism,” it added.

Iran is planned to celebrate the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) on Saturday, marking the 41st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year, Iranians mark the anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies. February 1, 1979, was the date when Ayatollah Khomeini returned from exile.

On February 11 each year, Iranian people pour into the streets in their millions to commemorate the great victory of the Islamic Revolution.
