The report of the high commission investigating the dimensions and causes of the accident of the helicopter carrying the Martyr Raisi

TEHRAN (defapress) - The preliminary report of the high committee to investigate the dimensions and causes of the helicopter accident carrying the president which was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces on Thursday night, May 23, 2024, stated that a significant part of the information has been collected in various specialized, technical, and general fields that could be involved in the accident.

Some actions need more time to give a definitive opinion, which is under investigation, and some cases can be stated with certainty that are mentioned below:

1-      The helicopter has already continued on the planned route and has not left the designated flight path.

2-      About one and a half minutes before the accident, the pilot of the helicopter who had the accident, communicated with two other helicopters of the flight group.

3-      No bullet marks or similar cases were found in the remaining components of the crashed helicopter.

4-      The crashed helicopter caught fire after hitting the heights.

5-      Due to the complexity of the area, fog, and low temperature, the reconnaissance operation was extended into the night and continued throughout the night and on Monday morning, May 20 (at 5 AM) with the help of Iranian drones, the exact spot of the accident is determined and the ground forces of reconnaissance operations were present at that point.

6-      No suspicious cases were observed in the conversations between the watchtower and the flight crew.

The initial report of the high committee to investigate the dimensions and causes of the helicopter accident carrying the President, which was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces, stated that a significant part of the documents related to the mentioned helicopter accident has been collected and to review some parts and documents, more time is needed, and after thorough and expert work, will announce to the noble and revolutionary nation of Iran.
