Iraq ready to support Syria in countering terrorism

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad held a telephone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to discuss recent developments and cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism, as well as several issues related to Arab countries and the world.

Al-Sudani stressed in the phone call that the security of Syria and Iraq is the same.

The Iraqi Prime Minister also stressed Baghdad's readiness to provide any necessary support to Syria in the fight against terrorism and all terrorist groups.

Al-Sudani concluded by stressing Iraq's commitment to Syria's stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
