TEHRAN (Defapress) - Wafiq Safa, the head of the Coordination Unit of Hezbollah in Lebanon, in an interview with Al Mayadeen, emphasized that Hezbollah has no connection to the incident involving UNIFIL forces on the route to Beirut Airport. He stated that Hezbollah's relationship with UNIFIL is good.
He added: A distinction must be made between peaceful protests, where we express our opinion regarding the prevention of an Iranian plane from landing in Beirut and the attack on UNIFIL forces.
Safa further noted that Lebanese authorities and the army should consider the conditions of the people and not exert additional pressure on them.
Regarding the specified deadline for the Zionist regime and its withdrawal from southern Lebanon, he said: This matter is up to the Lebanese government. Hezbollah will announce its position on this issue during the funeral of the martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, through Sheikh Naim Qassem, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah.
It is worth mentioning that the peaceful protests of the Lebanese people against the anti-Iranian actions of their government, along with the intervention of suspicious elements and the attack on UNIFIL forces, led to tensions.
