TEHRAN (Defapress) - Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Faisal bin Farhan, Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, discussed and exchanged views in a telephone call on bilateral relations and regional and international developments.
At the beginning of the conversation, the Saudi Foreign Minister expressed regret over the tragic incident that led to the fire in Shahid Rajaee Port, expressed Saudi Arabia’s condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased and the government and people of Iran, and prayed to God for the recovery and health of the injured.
The Foreign Minister of Iran appreciated the messages of sympathy from high-ranking Saudi Arabian officials.
Araqchi explained the Islamic Republic of Iran's positions on regional developments and, referring to the increasing insecurity in the region as a result of the Zionist regime's continued crimes in Gaza and the West Bank and its repeated aggressions against Lebanon, called for the mobilization of the international community to stop the greatest ongoing genocide of the century.
Iran's Foreign Minister also informed his Saudi counterpart about the latest developments in the indirect talks between Iran and the United States.
