TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the Palestinian Information Center, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of the Shafa Medical Complex in Gaza, revealed the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip in a speech and announced that the siege crisis has entered its 64th day and all crossings are still completely closed.
He emphasized that the continuation of this situation has led to the intensification of famine and the death of at least 57 people due to hunger and food shortages.
According to Abu Salmiya, the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached an unprecedented level and the entry of food, medicine, and medical equipment has completely stopped.
The director of the Shafa Medical Complex also accused the occupying regime of using an “organized policy of starvation” against civilians, saying that the regime had put the lives of millions of people at risk by completely preventing the entry of vital items.
In this regard, he called for urgent action by international organizations, especially the World Health Organization and human rights and humanitarian organizations, to pressure the Zionist regime to immediately reopen the crossings and send essential aid.
In this regard, the World Health Organization announced that 30 trucks affiliated with this organization carrying medical aid are still waiting to enter the Gaza Strip.
According to this report, the staff of this international organization in Gaza have been severely exhausted due to the lack of aid from outside the region.
Based on international law, the Zionist regime is obliged to issue the necessary permits for the entry of medical and humanitarian aid into Gaza.
