TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al-Mayadeen, an Israeli special forces unit attempted to infiltrate the western area of Salah al-Din Street in northern Khan Yunis while wearing women's clothing.
Based on Al-Mayadeen, available information indicates that this operation was carried out to reach Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip.
The report adds that the force failed to achieve its objectives and proceeded to martyr a Palestinian and capture his wife and children.
Earlier, Zionist sources had reported a special operation in Khan Yunis but did not disclose details.
Some sources stated that an Israeli special forces unit assassinated Ahmad Sarhan, a commander of the resistance committees, in central Khan Yunis and detained his wife and children. The Palestinian Quds News Agency confirmed the martyrdom of this resistance commander.
Barak Ravid, a reporter for the Zionist media, Walla, quoted a senior Israeli official as saying that the army carried out a special operation in Khan Yunis early this morning. Meanwhile, Doron Kadosh, a military correspondent for the Zionist army’s radio, reported that Israeli warplanes and helicopters targeted various areas in Khan Yunis around 30 times.
While some sources claimed that the operation was an attempt to free prisoners, others, including Channel 12 of the Zionist regime’s television, emphasized that the special operation in Khan Yunis was not for prisoner release but likely an attempt to abduct a senior Palestinian resistance commander.
Amit Segal, an Israeli analyst, as well as the Zionist army’s spokesperson, denied any success in freeing prisoners in Khan Yunis. The army spokesperson stated in a declaration that a military operation titled "Gideon's Chariots" is being carried out across the Gaza Strip, but no change has been observed in the field situation.
The Zionist regime has heavily targeted Khan Yunis in recent hours, launching over 40 attacks in less than an hour, some of which were in the form of fire belts.
The Zionist occupiers also targeted shelters for displaced persons near Nasser Hospital in central Khan Yunis, as well as the hospital’s medical production center. No precise casualty figures from the Zionist regime’s attacks on Khan Yunis have been released yet, but medical sources reported that at least 17 martyrs have been brought to hospitals, 6 of whom were residents of Khan Yunis.
The escalation of the Zionist regime’s attacks on various areas of Gaza in recent days falls within the framework of the Zionist plan called "Gideon's Chariots," which is set to be implemented in several phases across Gaza.
