TEHRAN (Defapress) - As the war on Gaza and the attacks and aggressions of the Zionist regime against this narrow strip continue, the United Nations yesterday released a report stating that since the beginning of the Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, more than 12,000 women have been martyred, with tens of thousands more injured.
The martyrdom of 12,000 women in Gaza by the Zionist regime is an immense and painful human tragedy that has not only wounded the global conscience but also reveals the vast and unimaginable scale of systematic violence by the fake Israeli regime’s military against the Palestinian people, especially women and children. This crime is a continuation of decades of oppressive policies, occupation, and apartheid by the Zionist regime, made possible by the silence or support of Western powers.
To examine the various dimensions of this humanitarian catastrophe, we must first address the deliberate targeting of Palestinian civilians by the Zionist regime’s military. The killing of over 12,000 innocent and unarmed women in Gaza demonstrates that the illegitimate Zionist occupation army intentionally targets civilians, particularly women and children. This heinous and inhumane act by the Zionist regime not only violates international law but also constitutes a clear example of war crimes and genocide.
Another critical issue is the alarming rise in systematic violence against women by the Zionist regime’s military. Palestinian women have historically been the silent victims of Zionist occupation, enduring the greatest injustices and oppression.
Many of these women were mothers, nurses, teachers, or civil activists who lost their lives, achieving martyrdom during the Zionist regime’s attacks on Gaza, either due to bombings or prolonged sieges. This issue has been closely monitored with grave concern by international organizations since the beginning of the Gaza war.
Yet, few are unaware that the deliberate targeting and killing of Palestinian women is part of the Zionist regime’s inhumane policy to weaken and dismantle the social fabric of Palestinian society. The continuation of this barbaric policy is so horrific and irreversible that even years after the Gaza war ends, its social repercussions will persist. Palestinian society will struggle for decades to address this crisis, forcibly imposed upon them by the Zionist war machine.
Of course, this is not the end of the story. The role of Palestinian resistance in confronting these crimes and countering them is crucial, undeniable, and impactful. Resistance remains the only path to defend the rights of Gaza’s oppressed people, a resistance that, despite heavy costs, has shown that Palestine will not surrender and will continue to fight the Zionist occupiers to the last drop of blood.
What is lamentable, however, is the silence and indifference of the international community toward the war in Gaza and the Zionist regime’s crimes against its innocent civilians. Despite numerous reports by human rights organizations like the UN and Amnesty International, the West, led by the U.S., continues to support the occupying and aggressive regime. There are countless instances of the U.S. shielding Tel Aviv’s leaders from accountability in international courts.
In the end, the massacre and genocide of over 12,000 women in Gaza by the Zionist war machine is an immense and painful human tragedy that history will never forget. This slaughter has made it abundantly clear that the occupying regime in Quds adheres to no moral or international principles. The only way to end the crimes of this child-killing regime is to strengthen the Resistance and increase international pressure to stop this bloody and devastating war, and to prosecute the leaders and officials of the Zionist regime.
