TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Ma'an, the Israeli parliament last night approved the draft law on the execution of Palestinian prisoners, which was submitted by a Zionist representative.

The draft is scheduled to be reviewed in the next stage in the specialized committees of the Israeli parliament.

In the first stage of approval of the draft, 30 representatives voted in favor and 19 voted against.

After its initial approval, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was extremely excited and proceeded to distribute sweets in the parliament!

According to this law, anyone who kills a Zionist with "racist" goals and tarnishes the image of the Israeli regime will be executed. Also, this sentence can be issued in a military court with the opinion of some judges, not by their consensus, and cannot be reduced.

Yesterday, 9 Palestinian human rights organizations stressed in a joint statement that the Israeli authorities have been carrying out executions for years using various methods, even before any formal law was passed.

The legal organizations added that the most dangerous aspect of the law is its retroactivity, which is unprecedented in criminal law and is set to be applied retroactively once passed.

The statement also stated that the Israeli cabinet, and in particular Itamar Ben-Gvir, the regime’s Minister of Internal Security, is seeking to “provide legal cover for mass executions” by passing the law, which could target hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, including members of the Qassam Brigades who were captured during or after the October 7, 2023, operation.
