China Calls for Immediate Release of Venezuelan President

TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Reuters, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the United States should immediately release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife and resolve the issues through dialogue and negotiation.

The statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said: The United States should guarantee the personal safety of Maduro and his wife.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry stressed that the kidnapping of Maduro and his wife is a violation of international law and international norms.

The United States invaded Venezuela on Friday night and kidnapped the country's president and his wife. Various countries have declared Washington's action a violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.

As Washington threatened Caracas with more widespread attacks, Maduro's deputy stressed resistance to US imperialism.
