TEHRAN (Defapress) - Following the US attack on Iran and Iran’s response by targeting US military bases in Bahrain, the Defapress correspondent conducted an exclusive interview with Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqqaq, a prominent Bahraini militant scholar, to ask his views on these developments and their consequences for the region.

Secret of the Bahraini People’s Welcome of Iran’s Attack on the US Fifth Fleet

At the beginning of his speech, he said: The US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain has control over the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the Red Sea, and the Suez Canal. When Iran attacks this base, it sends a message to the US that the center of control over all these areas is within our reach, and we will expel you from this region.

Sheikh Abdullah al-Daqqaq added: "The Bahraini people view the bombing of US bases with a positive attitude, and after the US Fifth Fleet was targeted, they took to the streets with joy and demanded the withdrawal of US forces from the region and Bahrain."

He continued: "There is no doubt that targeting the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain will lead to a change in the military equation in the region, because with the withdrawal of this base from service, dominance over the region will be weakened, and Arab countries will review their defense and security strategies and move towards military independence to protect themselves from possible dangers and conflicts."

The director of Bahraini seminaries in Iran concluded by saying: "It has become clear to everyone that the American military bases in the region are not for the defense of Arab countries, but on the contrary, they have become a threat to them, because these countries were attacked because of the existence of these bases, and the Americans only defended Israel and left the Arab countries alone, and this issue will lead to a review of the presence of the Americans in the region, because it has become clear that their presence is a threat to the region, and with their withdrawal and an agreement between the countries of the region, security and peace will return to the region."
