Body of the Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Arrives in Najaf
TEHRAN (Defapress) - The body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his martyred family arrived in Najaf tonight (Tuesday, July 7) after extensive and magnificent funeral ceremonies in Tehran and Qom.
The body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution was buried yesterday in Tehran with a large and million-strong presence, and today the funeral and farewell ceremony was held in the holy city of Qom with the enthusiastic presence of the people and pilgrims.
At the same time, Iraqi sources announced that the Iraqi Coordination Framework delegation arrived at Najaf International Airport today, Tuesday, to welcome the body of the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei, the late Leader of Iran.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian arrived at Najaf Ashraf International Airport a few minutes ago, officially welcomed by Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and a group of high-ranking Iraqi and local officials.
Pezzekian, who traveled to Iraq to attend the funeral ceremony for the body of the Iranian leader, was officially welcomed by Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi and a group of high-ranking Iraqi officials upon his arrival.
During this visit, in addition to attending the funeral ceremony for the body of the Iranian Leader, the Iranian President will also meet and talk with the Iraqi Prime Minister.
Iranian officials, including Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Mohsen Rezaei and Haddad Adel, and Ayatollah Mostafa Khamenei, the eldest son of the martyred Leader, attended the funeral of the martyred Leader in Najaf.
The holy body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran was placed in the hands of his Iraqi loved ones at a special location at Najaf Airport, and the Iraqi parade unit paid tribute to the martyred Imam's body and was welcomed by the leaders of Iraq and Iran.
