Senior Terrorist Commander Killed in Remote-Controlled Bomb Blast in Northwestern Syria

TEHRAN (defapress)- Abu Asyad al-Babi, a key Al-Nusra Front (Tahrir al-Sham Hay'at or the Levant Liberation Board) air defense commander, was killed in a remote-controlled explosion in Idlib province, dissident-affiliated websites reported on Sunday.

Senior Terrorist Commander Killed in Remote-Controlled Bomb Blast in Northwestern SyriaThe news websites reported that Abu Asyad al-Babi was killed in a remote-controlled blast in his vehicle by a group of unknown assailants.

The websites further said that al-Babi was a commander of the Al-Nusra air defense battalion deployed in Northern Badiyeh (desert) that shot down a Russian fighter jet in Saraqib in Idlib province a couple of days ago.

Field sources confirmed on Saturday that Abu Yamin, a notorious security commander of Al-Nusra Front, was assassinated by unknown attackers in Southwestern Idlib.

The sources said that Abu Yamin, one of the security commanders of Al-Nusra, together with five of his forces were killed by unknown raiders in the village f al-Qaniyah near the town of Jisr al-Shughour.

The sources confirmed that Abu Yamin and his forces were killed by the assailants' gun fire.
