Western Iran border working nonstop

TEHRAN(defapress)– Due to the start of the Shia rituals, Arbaeen walk, in the western borders Shalamcheh, Chazabeh, and Mehran, in order to smooth the way for the exports, Parvizkhan border terminal will be open 24 hours a day, said the Qasr-e Shirin governor.

Western Iran border working nonstop“2,000 vehicles have crossed Parvizkhan border in the last two days to export goods,” said Morad-Ali Tatar in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency .

“Arrangements with the customs and border guard have been made for 24-hour incessant exports,” he added.

Parvizkhan border terminal is located in Kermanshah Province, western Iran, sharing border with Iraqi Kurdestan Region.

The border is in charge of over 54% of Iran’s exports to Iraq.

Tatar also reported that over 4.9m tons of goods worth $226.3m have been exported to Iraq via Parvizkhan and Khosravi borders since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar on March 21.

Some 800-1200 vehicles depart for Iraqi Kurdistan Region through Parvizkhan border and another 500 vehicles cross Khosravi border to export goods to Iraq.

Arbaeen pilgrimage or Arbaeen walk is widely recognized as the single largest annual peaceful gathering in the world where people swarm together and walk towards the shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) in Karbala, Iraq, to pay tribute to him.

Millions of devotees undertake the journey that is marked with prayers, mourning ceremonies and acts of charity.
