TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to the report of the Defapress correspondent, Admiral Ali Tangsiri, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the 14th Malik al-Ashtar Festival of the IRGC. He stated that 4 ships from the IRGC Navy and the Iranian Army are set to visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Navy.
Admiral Tangsiri emphasized that this visit marks the first of its kind, adding, "We have repeatedly stated that regional countries are capable of ensuring the security of the region, and there is no need for the presence of foreign forces."
Regarding joint military exercises with other countries, he noted, "Conducting joint drills with neighboring countries, including Iraq, is on the agenda. We have also engaged in interactions with the Omani Navy in this regard and have previously participated in joint exercises with Oman."
The IRGC Navy Commander highlighted the importance of maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, stating, "We have ensured the security of the Strait of Hormuz for many years, and significant measures have been taken in this area."
In response to a question from Defapress correspondent about the possibility of the IRGC Navy constructing an aircraft carrier, Admiral Tangsiri said, "We have drone carriers and similar vessels capable of carrying helicopters and drones. With God's help, the addition of a multipurpose drone carrier to the IRGC Navy will take place soon."
