TEHRAN (Defapress) - Last night, the Palestinian Hamas movement stated in response to the dangerous and provocative actions of Zionist settlers, backed by Israeli forces, during their repeated incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and their attempts to slaughter sacrificial animals within the holy site. Hamas declared that the extremist settlers' move to sacrifice animals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque is a dangerous escalation that demands mass Muslim mobilization to protect the sacred compound from Zionist conspiracies.
Hamas emphasized: "The Zionist settlers' attempt to bring sacrificial animals into Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Al-Ghawanmeh Gate is a blatant desecration of our Islamic sanctities. This requires widespread mobilization to confront the ongoing Zionist conspiracies and audacious violations against Al-Aqsa."
The movement added: "We reject the occupation regime’s policy of facilitating settler invasions into Al-Aqsa and allowing them to carry out unprecedented Talmudic rituals. We stress the need for constant vigilance and increased Palestinian presence at Al-Aqsa amid escalating threats."
Hamas concluded its statement by saying: "We call for courageous resistance against the settlers’ plots and confrontations with these savage Zionist aggressions. We also express gratitude to the guardians of Al-Aqsa who stand firm against these dangerous schemes."
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, strongly condemned the efforts of extremist Zionist groups to bring and slaughter sacrifices inside the mosque, stating: "This is an extremely dangerous act and a clear attempt by the Zionist regime to impose a new reality on Al-Aqsa Mosque."
He added: "This dangerous move exposes the collusion between the Zionist cabinet and extremist Jewish groups to alter the status of Al-Aqsa. We warn against such provocative actions that cross all red lines. We reject any extremist Zionist measures, backed by Israeli authorities, that aim to change the identity of Al-Aqsa. The Palestinian people will resist these conspiracies as they always have."
Sheikh Sabri stressed: "Our people have made great sacrifices to protect Al-Aqsa, and no non-Muslim presence will be tolerated there. While safeguarding Al-Aqsa is a duty upon the entire Islamic Ummah, today, the Palestinian people bear this responsibility alone. Despite the inaction and silence of the Arab and Islamic world in the face of Israeli aggression, our people will never abandon their sanctities."
He held the Zionist regime fully responsible for the repercussions of the settlers' actions, noting that Israeli security forces facilitate and protect extremist Jewish access to Al-Aqsa. He also stated: "It is unthinkable that the planning of animal sacrifices inside Al-Aqsa could happen without the knowledge of Israeli military and security officials."
Sheikh Sabri urged: "Arabs and Muslims must act immediately to stop the Zionists’ blatant aggression against Al-Aqsa and Palestinian worshippers. The occupiers are implementing a systematic racist policy, preventing Muslims from reaching the mosque while keeping its gates wide open for extremist settlers to storm and commit crimes. This is a clear violation of freedom of worship and international law."
