Maariv Reported a Sharp Decline in the Capabilities of the Israeli Military

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Maariv quoted a reserve officer of the Israeli army as saying: Military efforts have not yielded results, and military pressure in Gaza will not bring about any change. Hamas has imposed a heavy cost on the Israeli army through a guerrilla war that may last for years.

Referring to the disagreement between the Israeli political and military leaders about the future of the war in the Gaza Strip, the newspaper added: "Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has been requesting a meeting for discussions and talks for several days to present plans for continuing the war in Gaza."

According to the newspaper, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is avoiding holding this meeting and is preventing the presentation and approval of these plans regarding the war in Gaza.

Maariv quoted a political source in the Israeli regime as saying: "The army does not know what the political leadership wants, and continuing the mission (in the Gaza Strip) will have negative results."

The political source added: "The capabilities of the frontline units of the Israeli army have been severely depleted and worn out."

He also warned the leaders of the Israeli regime: "The expansion of the war in Gaza will have a long-term impact on the Israeli units and military."

The Israeli army has been waging a war against the Gaza Strip for nearly two years and has committed genocide against the people of this region. During this time, thousands of Palestinian citizens have been martyred, injured or missing, and due to the siege of the Gaza Strip, famine and hunger have spread in this region.

Human rights organizations have emphasized that the Israeli regime is using the policy of siege and starvation of the Palestinian people as a weapon in the Gaza Strip.

These crimes and famine in the Gaza Strip have been met with protests and a wave of international condemnation.

Despite nearly two years of war, the Israeli army has not achieved its stated goals of destroying the Hamas movement and returning Israeli prisoners from the Gaza Strip.

A number of military and political officials, analysts, and military experts of the Israeli regime have warned about the heavy casualties and attrition of the regime's army in the Gaza war and its consequences, including the suicides of Israeli soldiers, and are calling for an end to it.

Opposition politicians, families of Zionist prisoners, and several Israeli analysts emphasize that Netanyahu is prolonging the war in Gaza for his own interests and to prevent his cabinet from falling, and will not end it, because the most radical members of his cabinet have warned that if Netanyahu ends the war, they will leave the cabinet and overthrow it.
