Enemy Is Seeking an Imposed Peace

The Speaker of the Parliament stated that the miscalculation of Iran's enemies must be corrected, saying: The Western media empire is trying hard to portray Iran as the loser of the recent imposed war, and their goal in portraying this is to force Iran to accept an imposed peace after the imposed war.

TEHRAN (Defapress) - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in his pre-agenda speech at today’s (Sunday) open session of the Parliament, stated: "Last week, the parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, representing the noble people of Iran, participated in the summit of the heads of parliaments of the world. I find it necessary to report on its achievements for the awareness of our esteemed colleagues and the dear people."

Enemy Is Seeking an Imposed Peace

He emphasized: "This event was significant because it marked Iran’s first official presence at a UN-hosted summit after the 12-day Sacred Defense. The participation of over 110 parliamentary delegations from around the world further underscored its importance."

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly continued: "We must note that the Western media empire is making extensive efforts to portray Iran as the loser of the recent imposed war. Their objective behind this narrative is to force Iran into accepting an imposed peace following the imposed war. Therefore, the primary goal of Iran’s parliamentary delegation was to correct this media construct, which could otherwise lead to another miscalculation by the enemy."

Ghalibaf added: "On the other hand, given that the oppressed people of Gaza are facing systematic genocide, our second objective was to amplify their voice of suffering and demand humanity from governments and international institutions. These two goals were pursued through three avenues: the initiative to convene a side meeting on Adherence to International Law and the UN Charter to Ensure International Peace and Security, formal speeches, and bilateral meetings."

Referring to the meeting "Adherence to International Law and the UN Charter to Ensure International Peace and Security," initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in Geneva, he stated: "The reception of this initiative, hosted by Iran at the UN headquarters in Geneva with the participation of 31 parliamentary delegations and three international organizations, was beyond expectations, even for friendly nations. It emboldened allies and angered Iran’s enemies, as this reception reflected Iran’s elevated status in the post-war era. The collapse of the media narrative portraying Iran as weakened instead strengthened Iran’s position and enhanced its international authority, sending a message of global support for our country’s rational and just stances."

He further stated: "Additionally, on behalf of the Iranian people, I endeavored in my formal speeches, which garnered significant international and media resonance, to highlight several key points. The first strategy was to dismantle the image of a weakened Iran. While explicitly condemning the illegal and oppressive actions of the U.S. and the Zionist regime under the UN Charter, it was made clear that Iran does not beg for its security from anyone. This was to correct the miscalculations of Iran’s enemies and make them understand that their only option is to accept our legal rights, abandoning any ambition for imposed war or imposed peace. In that case, Iran, from its victorious position in the war, is ready, as always, to engage in diplomacy through rational and dignified mechanisms."

Ghalibaf continued: "The second strategy in these speeches was to expose the crimes of the Zionist regime and its Western supporters. Efforts were made to clarify that this regime’s behavior aligns with 21st-century Nazism, defined by state racism, systematic genocide, and territorial aggression against other nations, posing a threat to global security. If the international system does not stand against it today, all nations will burn in the flames of this fascist ideology."

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly added: "The third strategy was to demand that governments and the international system move beyond mere statements and declarations in defending the oppressed people of Gaza and take practical action. Otherwise, we will witness the collapse of the international community. The continued impunity of the Zionist regime’s aggressions undermines the legitimacy of the international order and sends a dangerous message to global peace."

He noted: "The activities of Iran’s parliamentary delegation angered the disrespectful speaker of the Zionist regime’s Knesset, forcing him into a passive reaction during the same summit. He was compelled to deny the starvation of Gaza’s people and children, contrary to all official reports by UN-affiliated experts and observers. Even more striking was how the chanting of 'Death to Israel' by Iranian parliamentarians became the best platform to showcase the freedom-seeking spirit of the Iranian nation. Here, we proudly and loudly declare: 'O Israel! Be angry at us, and die from this anger!'"
