TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Shahab, UNRWA reported the worsening hunger crisis in the Gaza Strip.

One-Third of Gaza's Children are Without Food Every Day

According to an assessment by the International Rescue Committee, one in three children in Gaza goes without food for a full 24 hours.

This situation occurs in light of the ongoing genocide by the Zionist regime against the region since October 7, 2023.

On the other hand, today, the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip announced that a newborn had died as a result of malnutrition and lack of treatment.

Previously, Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), warned of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and announced that about 4,000 children have suffered amputations since the beginning of the war; a statistic that makes Gaza the largest center of child amputation victims in the world.

According to UNRWA, these figures are part of a wider crisis that includes thousands of amputations and other serious injuries. Local hospitals have been overwhelmed in recent months by a wave of emergency surgeries, often resulting in amputations. Medical reports also indicate a high number of cases of serious spinal and brain injuries since October 2023.
