TEHRAN (Defapress) - In an interview with Defapress correspondent, Ebrahim Rezaei, Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, referring to the claims made in the US national security document, stated: “We have heard more lies from the Americans in the past years, especially during the Trump era, than the truth, and this issue is not new.”

Field Realities Show That Iran Is Stronger Today Than in the Past

He added: “If Iran has truly weakened, then what is the meaning of this amount of energy, expense, and effort by the US in the region, in the world, and in international forums to pressure the Islamic Republic of Iran? If Iran is not important, why do they beg for negotiations and send intermediaries openly and secretly?”

Rezaei emphasized the increase in Iran's deterrence power and stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has not only not weakened, but has also become stronger than before. Even the 12-day war ended when Iran was able to deliver effective strikes to the Americans and the Zionists."

The National Security Commission spokesman continued: "The firing of 14 missiles at the American base in Qatar is the best evidence to refute the claim of weakening Iran and shows that the Islamic Republic of Iran has the necessary authority and is acting more powerfully today than before."

Referring to the change in the level of confrontation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and its enemies, he said: "In the past, Iran mainly fought terrorist groups supported by the United States, such as ISIS; groups for which the United States played the role of air force. But today, our level of confrontation has reached directly with the Americans themselves, and this indicates the increase in the power and status of the Islamic Republic."

Rezaei continued: "The Americans tested this reality again this year, at the beginning of July, and saw the result." Therefore, one should not trust the claims made in the US National Security Document and similar documents.

In concluding his remarks, he emphasized: The field realities and regional security developments clearly show that the Islamic Republic of Iran has not only not been weakened, but has consolidated and strengthened its position by relying on its internal power and deterrence.

The Spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also pointed out the US propaganda goals of making such claims and stated: These spatialisation schemes are more for internal and psychological consumption than they are a reflection of reality, and are carried out to hide America's strategic failures in the region.

He added: If America truly believed in weakening Iran, it would not need this volume of threats, sanctions, pressure, and psychological operations; these behaviors themselves are clear evidence of the power and influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in regional and international equations.
