US Offers Ukraine Security Guarantees in Several Stages

TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Kyiv Post reported on Monday that the US has offered Ukraine a multi-stage approach to security guarantees.

The newspaper quoted Western officials as saying that Ukraine insists that security guarantees should be a prerequisite for any final agreement to end the war with Russia, but the US proposal would finalize the guarantees over time.

Yesterday, talks to end the war in Ukraine were held at the German Chancellor's office in Berlin with the presence of the US President's special envoy, Steven Witkoff, and Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, which lasted five hours.

According to Sputnik, the US government had previously announced the development of a plan to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and the Kremlin also emphasized its adherence to the understandings of the Alaska summit.
