UN Warns of Severe Malnutrition in 100,000 Children in Gaza
The Director-General of the World Health Organization announced that more than 100,000 children and 37,000 pregnant and lactating women in the Gaza Strip could face acute malnutrition by April 2026.
TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, quoted by Al Araby Al-Jadeed, stressed that efforts to combat the risk of famine in Gaza remain "very fragile."
The World Health Organization's warning comes as the Israeli regime has tightened its siege on Gaza after more than two years of war, depriving residents of the area of basic needs, including food, health, and medical equipment, even vital and life-saving items.
