TEHRAN (Defapress) - In a press conference with media outlets, spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, stated: “The developments in the region are very fluid and rapid. What cannot be ignored is Israel’s seditions in West Asia and in the region. Despite the ceasefire in Palestine and Lebanon, we are witnessing attacks against the people of Palestine and Lebanon.”

The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued: “Last night, 15 attacks took place against Lebanon, and to date, more than 6,000 ceasefire violations have occurred.”
Baghaei added, “The reality is that we are facing a hybrid war, and in these past few months, we have faced new claims every day. The countries of the region are well aware that any insecurity in the region is not just for Iran, but is contagious.”
The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in its capabilities and also has the experiences of the 12-day Imposed War in mind, and will give a comprehensive and powerful response to any attack.”
Baghaei emphasized: “Our world is facing a problem called double standards.” The events that took place in occupied Palestine did not even lead to a session of the Human Rights Council. A regime whose officials are guilty, easily moved, but at the same time, under pressure and under false pretexts, our country’s officials are prevented from entering.
The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: “The US approach to human rights is deceitful. One of the advantages that the current US government has is its openness, and they do not hide that its policy is to plunder countries. They used to hide this.
He continued: “America is violating human rights. America must first notice the harsh treatment of the police in this country.” The former US president said that in the past few days, children and individuals were arrested in the US, and a number were targeted. The US approach towards Iran is a continuation of the psychological and media war in which this country’s government has a long hand.
Regarding consultations between Russia, China, and Iran on defense, Baghaei noted: “Our relations with China and Russia are based on respect and our defense cooperation has a long history.” We have a defense agreement with both China and Russia. These cooperations, exchanges, and contacts will definitely continue with full force.
The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: Russia and China, as two important members of the United Nations, are certainly concerned about their responsibilities. We are in contact with both countries regarding recent developments.
Regarding Grossi's statements regarding his meeting with Araqchi, he clarified: As a member of the Agency, we are in constant contact with Agency officials. We have never hesitated to hear what the other party has to say. Of course, the technical discussions of cooperation with the Agency are the responsibility of the Atomic Energy Organization, and we had no problem with the talks taking place. The meeting was supposed to take place on the sidelines of the Davos meeting.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman continued: Switzerland, with its history of neutrality, is simultaneously hosting officials of the Zionist regime and parties that are officially accused of genocide in international courts, but it is canceling hosting the Iranian Foreign Minister.
He stated: The insistence of the Western parties to convey a one-sided narrative to the world is very meaningful.
Regarding the European Parliament’s designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization, Baghaei said: The action of European countries in threatening and labeling a part of a country’s armed forces is against the principles of the international foundation and has many political consequences.
The spokesperson for the Islamic Republic of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: This is a ridiculous and illogical act. If any country arbitrarily decides to destroy part of the institutions that constitute a country with a label, we will face the proliferation of terrorist groups.
He noted: This is an approach that the United States established, and some countries continue it regardless of the consequences of this action. We hope that wiser European countries will not fall into the temptations of such an action.
Regarding the recent media reports on the transfer of ISIS prisoners to Iraq, Baghaei said: "We respect the decisions of the Iraqi government and believe that the Iraqi authorities definitely know the best interests of this country. At the same time, we cannot hide our concern that foreign parties will impose new problems on Iraq and the region."
The Foreign Ministry spokesman added: "The blood of Iranians and Iraqis has been mixed in the face of the ISIS phenomenon. We have paid a huge price to confront ISIS. The competent authorities of the two countries are definitely in contact so that this issue does not harm the relations between the two countries.
Regarding Araghchi's tweet on the Greenland incident, Baghaei added: "Iran's position on the events in Greenland is clear. Respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries is a principle, and if you act selectively, you cannot maintain your principles."
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: "The Greenland incident and issue is a problem that Western countries are facing. The point that Mr. Araghchi made was to warn them."
Regarding Venezuela's possession of the Russian S-300 air defense system and its failure in the US operation against its president, he said: "The US has shown that whenever it puts pressure on a country, it sets up a media network alongside it to create doubts in countries that have friendly relations. The sources of these speculations are related to Western parties."
In response to a reporter's question that one of the Israeli media outlets claimed that the information and reports sent from Israel to the US were facing excessive suspicion from the US ruling party, especially Steve Whittaker and Jared Kushner, Baghaei said: "When the American side, as a close friend of the Israeli regime, admits that the information produced by Israel should be viewed with extreme concern, how can our media promote these reports? This claim is absolutely untrue. It is a lie in continuation of the lies of the Israeli regime." There are some points in this report, and one of them is the hostility of the Zionist regime to any diplomacy, and one of the sources of producing fake information is this regime. When you see that it is said that 800 people are going to be executed on January 15, we see how big a lie it is.
In response to the new US defense security document, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: This document should not be seen apart from the US approaches towards our entire region and Iran, and this is part of Iranophobia. Therefore, it has no real basis except for the illusions that they have institutionalized in their minds over time. The region is aware that the main danger comes from the Zionist regime, and the document is full of contradictions.
He noted: According to the Agency's report, Iran has never sought nuclear weapons. Regarding the generalities of the document regarding the region, the main axis is supporting the Zionist regime through differences between the countries of the region.
Baghaei added: Regarding the presence of the US naval fleet in the region and Iran's response, I must say that the arrival of battleships is not going to affect Iran's determination and seriousness to defend the Iranian nation. We have the determination to defend the Iranian people, so Iranian forces are carefully monitoring every development and are not wasting a second to enhance their own capabilities.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: Sending forces to the region and making threats is against all international principles and rules. We know that the American side does not pay attention to these principles, but if these principles are violated, its insecurity will affect everyone. That is why regional countries are trying to prevent any party from making miscalculations.
Regarding the fact that the British ambassador left the country and then returned again following the recent airstrikes, he said: We do not know the intentions of the ambassador in his travels.
Regarding negotiations with the US regarding the possibility of an attack, Baghaei added: "You can enter into talks with a country that does not seek war. Our position is clear; we have never turned away from diplomacy. Our people saw firsthand that five rounds of negotiations were held, and the side that disrupted and set the negotiating table on fire was the American side, with the complicity of the Zionist regime. We are both honest in negotiations and serious in defending ourselves."
The Foreign Ministry spokesman continued: "Our forces will give a regrettable response to any aggression. At the diplomatic level, we have taken measures and had interactions with the parties in the region. Certainly, no country welcomes war, but if it is imposed, there will be no option but to stand firm and defend."
Regarding the developments in Syria, he noted: "The events that happened in Syria are instructive. What is important for us and the region is security and stability in the West Asia and Levant region, which, unfortunately, is still exposed to aggression by the Zionist regime due to its occupation of Syria."
Regarding Iran's possible response to any aggression, Baghaei said: "You cannot take anything for granted. We have an extraordinary ability to defend ourselves. We are much more prepared than in the past. Our responsibility is to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Regarding our response, we will respond decisively to any aggression, and the armed forces have learned how to defend Iran."
Regarding the US threats against Latin America and Cuba, the Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: "We believe that respecting the national sovereignty of countries and refraining from resorting to force should be the basis of countries' international behavior. The reality is that we are facing a unilateral effort to disrupt all international principles. This situation will lead to chaos on a global level, and this responsibility will burden all countries."
At the end of the press conference, he said: "All countries will suffer from this situation. These European countries are among the parties that faced threats to their territorial integrity." Cuba has been under severe US sanctions for several years, and no country should seek permission from anyone regarding how to exercise its sovereignty.
