TEHRAN (Defapress) - About 10 days have passed since the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, and during this period, the United States has committed numerous breaches of its pledges. For example, despite the necessity of a ceasefire in Lebanon as one of the clauses of the ceasefire memorandum in Farvardin and the Islamabad Memorandum, the United States, by showing a green light, has permitted the Zionist regime to commit crimes in various areas of southern Lebanon; while the forces of this occupying regime must, in addition to ending the war, withdraw from all occupied areas of Lebanon to behind the official borders of this country. Also, on the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, which is another important clause of the ceasefire and in which it is explicitly stated that the management of this waterway is the responsibility of Iran, the United States is trying to change the security arrangements governing the strait in accordance with its own desires and objectives, in which matter it has so far faced failure due to Iran's severe field resistance.

Iran's Armed Forces' Striking Response to Violators of the Islamabad MoU

After the 40-day war, the United States, with baseless claims, has been seeking to pursue its objectives in the region and weaken Iran; but on the battlefield, it is the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran that dictate the realities of the West Asia region to the enemies.

The noteworthy point is that in the past two weeks, the United States has repeatedly attacked the southern coasts of Iran and violated the ceasefire, and the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to America's mischiefs, have subjected the bases of this country's terrorist army in the region, including in the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait, to heavy missile and drone strikes.

In the latest instance of its ceasefire violation, the US Army attacked targets on Sirik Island, which attack was met with a crushing response from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this regard, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced: The Naval and Aerospace Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, during a joint missile and drone operation between 2 and 3 AM on Sunday, the June 28, by launching ballistic missiles and drones toward eight important infrastructures of the child-killing US Army at the Ali Al-Salem base in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet in Salman Port in Bahrain, destroyed them and decisively responded to America's recent aggressions; also, the aggressor enemy, for whom breach of covenant and pledge-breaking is inherent, under the pretext of the IRGC Navy confronting a violator ship, early this morning attacked five coastal posts of the Islamic Republic.

This revolutionary institution adds: According to the Islamabad Memorandum, the arrangements for controlling traffic in the Strait of Hormuz are with the Islamic Republic, and from now on, violating ships will be dealt with more strongly than before, and any possible enemy aggression under any pretext will receive a crushing response.

The decisive statement of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps indicates that Iran will not tolerate any breach of covenant in the Islamabad Memorandum and will respond firmly and crushingly to any violation of the agreement on the operational ground.

Also, this matter was strongly criticized in the diplomatic arena by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran; this ministry, by issuing a statement, strongly condemned the barbaric actions of CENTCOM in the region. In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran states: The barbaric attacks of the United States, which constitute a clear violation of paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the UN Charter and also an explicit violation of the first paragraph of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conclusion of the Imposed War dated the June 18, 2026, show that the American regime attaches the least value and credibility to its commitments, and pledge-breaking is part of the nature of this regime.

This diplomatic institution adds: The Islamic Republic of Iran, while reminding the United Nations Security Council and its Secretary-General of their responsibilities regarding international peace and security, emphasizes its determination to defend Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity against US military aggression, in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The statements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran show that the United States, through pledge-breaking, has committed crimes to which the response of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran to these crimes and breaches of covenant is inevitable.

After the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, the behavior of American officials has shown that this country not only does not adhere to its commitments but also, by repeatedly violating the ceasefire in Lebanon, launching direct attacks on Iran's coasts, and attempting to change the security arrangements of the Strait of Hormuz, is effectively following a path of tension-mongering and domination through violation of the agreement.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has reacted to these attacks on the military front with decisive and swift responses; but it is necessary that in the diplomatic arena as well, with clear stances, it explicitly declares that it will not tolerate any breach of covenant and will respond to any aggression with power, in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the UN Charter; also, that Iran can utilize the option of completely blocking the Strait of Hormuz and, if necessary, blocking Bab-el-Mandab to compel the enemy to comply with its commitments.

The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the Islamabad MoU a binding document and will respond to any deviation from it with practical, field, and legal action because national security, territorial integrity, and the rights of the Iranian nation are a red line that will not be bargained away in the face of any pressure or aggression.
