“Syria will liberate all occupied territory; this includes the Golan Heights, ‘Afrin, Raqqa, and Idlib,” Ja’afari told UN Security Council, massdar news reported on Wednesday.
Ja’afari added that the Syrian army is on the eve of victory in Eastern Ghouta, adding that the region had not ‘fallen’ like the United States’ UN representative claimed, but rather, was “liberated like Eastern Aleppo.”
The Syrian ambassador continued to target the western nations in the UN’s Security Council, pointing out that many of their claims had lacked professionalism and objectivity.
Ja’afari then confronted the UN’s Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock, for failing to mention that militants were behind the attacks on the Kashkoul area that killed over 40 civilians last week.
The Syrian ambassador continued to question Lowcock, asking him why he failed to mention that Turkey was behind the mass exodus of civilians from Afrin to Tal Rifa’at.
Syria has repeatedly called on Turkey to immediately withdraw from the Afrin region; however, Ankara maintains that they are fighting ‘terrorists’ in the region.
