TEHRAN (Defapress) The JCPOA stands for Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the official name of the agreement reached between Iran and six world major powers in 2015 to give Tehran sanctions relief in return for scaling back its nuclear program.

Talking to reporters in Damascus late Tuesday, he added that Iran agreed to curtail its nuclear program as per JCPOA so that the sanctions will be lifted totally.

If the sanctions are re-imposed, there will be no justification for the Iranian nation, government and Majlis to continue the same policy, Boroujerdi said.

“The Islamic Republic can scale up uranium enrichment to a level it needs within several days. Of course, our redline is nuclear bomb which has been prohibited by NPT as well as a Fatwa by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” he said.

Trump’s policies will actually weaken the pillars of NPT, he said.

Noting that Israel owns nuclear warheads, Boroujerdi said that if the US is really worried about nuclear bomb, why it does not go for Israel which threatens security of the Middle East and world with over 200 nuclear warheads.

Condemning Trump’s policy to relocate US embassy to Quds, he said that the move is not only amounts to confrontation with the Islamic Ummah but also is an insult to all divine religions.

“Beit ul-Moqaddas is the eternal capital of Palestine and the country will soon be released and we will witness return of sovereignty to the real owners of the land,” he said.

Trump’s excessive demands in various fields have sparked an economic conflict with China and political crisis in its ties with Russia, as the two permanent members of the UN Security Council, and this will eventually create a crisis in the US, he said.

Pointing to US and its allies’ recent attack on Syria, the official said that the US, UK and France launched aggression against Syria to escalate tension in the region and create a secure margin for the Zionist regime.

Syria is an independent country and a member of UN, he said, noting that any military presence in it without coordination with it is considered occupation and the aggressors should leave the soil of the country at the earliest.
