The Syrian Army troops have earned a complete upper-hand in the battlefields in the Southern part of Damascus province as they continue purging the region of ISIL terrorists, military sources said on Tuesday.

In the meantime, the army's artillery and missile units and aircraft pounded the remaining bases and movements of terrorists in Hajra al-Aswad and Yarmouk Camp, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.

A field commander said that the army's ground and aerial operation has devastated the terrorists' front, adding that the terrorists have moved to their hideouts due to the army's rapid and crushing advances in the region.

The commander said that terrorists have dug lengthy and vast tunnels that connect their positions to the residential units' basements, adding that the terrorists have turned mosques, kindergartens and schools into their shelters now.

On Monday, the army troops stormed ISIL's positions in the Southern part of Damascus province, imposing control over more key points.

The army soldiers, backed up by the artillery and missile units, engaged in tough battle with ISIL Northwest of Yarmouk Camp and captured several more buildings.

Also, other units of the army drove ISIL out of several buildings, including the Computer High School and Shafeyee Mosque Northwest of Hajar al-Aswad region.

In the meantime, the army aircraft conducted a heavy strike on the positions of ISIL's remaining pockets in Hajar al-Aswad and Yarmouk, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
