Syrian Army Reinvigorates Positions in Deir Ezzur

Field sources reported on Thursday that the Syrian army has in the past two days sent a large number of fresh forces, weapons and military equipment to the regions under its control near Albu Kamal in Eastern Deir Ezzur and West of the Euphrates river.

They added that the army has consolidated its positions in the region and built new strongholds, saying that they are aimed at preventing ISIL's attacks from Eastern Euphrates against the army's the military zones.

Meantime, the Syrian troops engaged in heavy clashes with the ISIL terrorists who had attacked their positions in Badiyeh region near the village of al-Duwair in Eastern Deir Ezzur, killing a number of militants and repelling their offensive.

Also, the artillery and missile units of the army targeted the terrorists' moves near the battle zone, inflicting heavy casualties on them.

In a relevant development on Monday, a sum of 20 ISIL terrorists were killed or wounded after their key positions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur came under missile attack by the Iraqi popular forces of Hashd al-Sha'abi.

Commander of Hashd al-Sha'abi in Western Anbar Qassem Mosleh said that their missile units pounded ISIL's vital positions in al-Marashadah, Mozan, al-Sousah and al-Baqouz Foqani regions in Southeastern Deir Ezzur, killing 13 terrorists and wounding 7 more.

The missile units targeted a number of bases, arms depots and military hardware of the ISIL.
