The Public Relations department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced in a statement on Thursday the safe return of five of the 12 Iranian border guards, including local Basij volunteer forces, who were abducted by the so-called Jaish ul-Adl terror group near the Pakistan-Iran border point of Mirjaveh on October 16.
The five border guards that returned home Wednesday night include Zabir Rigi, Saeid Notizehi, Rasoul Gomshadzehi, Mohammad Motamedi, and Mehrdad Abar-Azad.
The statement stresses the continuation of efforts and consultations with the Pakistani side to ensure the safe return of the remaining abducted guards.
