TEHRAN (Defapress) - Basem Naim, a leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated in an interview with Al-Mayadeen: The movement did not reject the plan of the US envoy in Gaza, Steve Witkoff, but rather announced its agreement with it last week and accepted it as a negotiable proposal.

He continued: The Zionist side has presented its response to the Witkoff plan, and this response does not follow the clauses we agreed on and does not meet the minimum needs of our nation.

Naim noted that Hamas, however, has had a positive and responsible interaction with this plan and the concerns that threaten our nation, and we have presented our response to fulfill the minimum of our demands.

The Hamas official continued: “We demand guarantees that the enemy respects the temporary 60-day ceasefire and that sufficient humanitarian aid enters Gaza.”

The Hamas leader noted that guarantees must be given that the negotiations conducted during this period will lead to an end to the war and the withdrawal of the aggressor forces.
