TEHRAN (Defapress) - Brigadier General Kiyomars Heydari, Commander of the Army Ground Forces, at the first conference honoring the peacekeepers of the Army Ground Forces, stated: According to the Charter of the United Nations, all member countries of this organization must strengthen their Guard units, provide the necessary training, and prepare them for deployment to assigned missions.
Brigadier General Heydari added: The army, upon the approval of the Commander-in-Chief, has assigned the mission of establishing a Peace Guard Unit to Iran's Army Ground Forces, and the Army Ground Forces has fully equipped this unit and prepared it for deployment to assigned missions.
Stating that Iran's Army Ground Forces considers itself fully committed to establishing lasting peace, ensuring regional security, and respecting the United Nations Charter, he noted: Our view of peace is not simply the absence of war, but rather the creation of stability, justice, and prosperity for all nations.
Commander of Army Ground Forces continued: "Within this framework, the Army Ground Forces are ready to play an active role in international missions, especially those aimed at defending oppressed people, combating terrorism, and restoring security to crisis-stricken regions." He stated: "In our view, lasting peace only makes sense in the light of justice, respect for the sovereignty of nations, and combating aggression and hegemony. We believe that peace should not mean surrender or inaction in the face of threats, but rather an active effort to eliminate the roots of insecurity, confront extremism and terrorism, support oppressed nations, and strengthen legitimate national institutions in crisis regions."
