TEHRAN (Defapress) - In response to the report of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, stated: “As long as the nuclear activities of countries are under the supervision of the Agency, there is no reason for concern. There is also no restriction on the level of enrichment according to the Agency’s documents, and the only restriction is that it should not be diverted to non-peaceful purposes.”

Iran Will Respond to Possible Abuse of Its Latitude

The Director General of the Agency cited the November 2024 resolution as the authority that mandated him to prepare this report. Unfortunately, this is the same resolution that three European countries and the United States, regardless of the achievements of the Director General’s visit to Iran, approved in a political move in the Board of Governors without consensus. Regrettably, the Director General has not mentioned this neglect of the countries in his report.

Throughout the report, there is no ambiguity regarding Iran’s ongoing nuclear activities or diversion of nuclear activities and materials. Iran has provided the necessary explanations for the allegations about Varamin and Turquz Abad. The Agency has become a tool to put pressure on Iran.

The exaggeration of the two alleged issues and the excessive expression of concern about them is merely an excuse to create an artificial concern. There is no limit on the level of enrichment according to the Agency’s documents.

The Director General of the Agency has no right or even an obligation to introduce a legitimate activity as an activity of concern. This action by Mr. Grossi is purely a political one.
