TEHRAN (Defapress) - "I will be at the prime minister's office on Sunday morning and I am ready to take any action to transfer power and surrender," Mohammad Ghazi al-Jalali told AFP.
He said he was ready to cooperate with any leader the Syrian people chose.
"I hope that all Syrians will think rationally about the interests of their country, we extend our hand to every Syrian citizen who is interested in preserving the capabilities of their country, and I call on citizens not to damage or harm public and state property," al-Jalali added.
Terrorist elements entered the Syrian capital Damascus from different directions an hour ago and took control of the entire city without any resistance.
They have also controlled Damascus airport and the Syrian Radio and Television building without any resistance.
Reuters also reported, citing official Syrian sources, that Bashar al-Assad was not present in Damascus; a Syrian military source also told the agency that the Syrian army command had notified army officers and commanders of the "fall of the Bashar al-Assad government."
