TEHRAN (Defapress) - Local Syrian sources told Sky News this morning (Monday) that the Israeli army has entered the city of Quneitra in southern Syria. According to the report, Israeli tanks have surrounded government buildings in Quneitra and demanded their evacuation.
Local Syrian sources also reported that the Israeli army has also entered the city of Al-Baath in Quneitra province. Syrian TV reported that Israeli forces have expelled employees of government offices in Al-Baath under the pretext of an inspection.
The Israeli army entered the country's territory as soon as the government of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was overthrown and the HTS rebels took power. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he has no plans to withdraw his forces from Syria in the near future.
Israeli sources have also reported that Netanyahu has ordered the army to remain in Syria for at least a year.
