Spain Once Again Emphasizes the Establishment of an Independent Palestinian State

TEHRAN (Defapress) -  According to Al Jazeera, Spain is among the leading countries in Europe in condemning the Zionist crimes against the Palestinians.

Accordingly, after the Madrid Group meeting, José Manuel Álvarez, Spanish Foreign Minister, announced that the war in Gaza must end.

“The current situation is inhuman and cruel. The Palestinian people have the right to hope,” Álvarez said.

He added: “The solution is the path of 2 states; that is, Palestine and Israel living side by side in peace and security. Today in Madrid, 20 countries gathered to work towards this goal.”

Spain hosted 20 countries, as well as international organizations that gathered with the aim of ending Israel’s devastating war on Gaza and also discussing the recognition of a Palestinian state.

Some European and Arab countries are now emphasizing the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly rejected the establishment of any independent Palestinian state as contrary to Israel's interests.
