TEHRAN (Defapress) - Al Jazeera reported that Osama Hamdan, a senior Hamas leader, criticized the U.S. stance and its disregard for the crimes of the Zionist regime, stating: "For the past 4 weeks, there has been no clear position from the U.S. condemning Netanyahu’s rejection of the ceasefire proposal."

He emphasized that the occupying regime has made no progress toward a ceasefire during this period, adding: "No new developments have occurred from the occupier regarding a ceasefire over the past four weeks."

Referring to ongoing diplomatic efforts, Hamdan said: "We are pursuing mediation efforts to stop the aggression and open the crossings. We insist on reaching an agreement that ends the aggression against our people."

He also warned: "The continuation of aggression means the continuation of resistance."

The senior Hamas member further stated: "We have presented a comprehensive plan that could lead to a broad agreement."

Hamdan criticized the behavior of the Zionist regime’s prime minister, asserting: "Netanyahu is trying to exploit the conflict with Iran to push for early elections, building his political blackmail on the blood of our people."

Regarding the U.S. role in this process, he said: "The U.S. government is still not in a position to be considered a serious and neutral mediator. This government continues to send troubling messages as an intermediary."

Hamdan also stressed: "We are determined to work toward a ceasefire that saves our people from this disaster."

The Hamas official added: "The Palestinian people must have the right to an independent state with full sovereignty."

In conclusion, he stated: "The U.S. government is well aware that Netanyahu has become an internationally wanted figure, but it believes that exonerating him domestically might lead to his exoneration on the international stage."
