TEHRAN (Defapress) - The Israeli media outlet i24 News announced that UK police announced the arrest of more than 400 people during a demonstration in support of Palestine in central London on Saturday.
The rally was held in front of the English Parliament to protest the ban on the activities of the "Palestine Action" group. The demonstrators carried placards with slogans such as "I oppose genocide and I support Palestine Action", demanding the cancellation of this decision.
London police claimed that a number of those arrested were arrested for committing multiple violations, including "attacking police officers and supporting a banned group".
Some reports also indicate that the police treated the protesters harshly.
Last month, English police arrested more than 500 pro-Palestinian activists in one day.
Analysts say the intensified crackdown on pro-Palestinian protests in Europe reflects growing pressure on popular movements demanding an end to the Israeli regime's crimes in Gaza.
