TEHRAN (Defapress) - Salar Velayatmadar, a member of Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, emphasized resistance to the demands of the United States and Western countries in an interview with Defapress correspondent: “They are seeking to disrupt our economic exchanges by exerting pressure and trying to control Iranian shipping and oil sales, but experience has shown that these measures are ineffective and any attack on Iranian ships will face severe retaliation.”

Stating that Western governments and some European governments play a slavish role in implementing US policies, Velayatmadar continued: "Unfortunately, some countries, under the influence of the US and the Zionist regime, are pursuing demands that are not only illegitimate, but will also cause the greatest harm to themselves."

Stating that the snapback has no legal basis, he said: "The enemies' next goal is to disrupt shipping and the sale of Iranian oil. We sent a message to the countries that the US asked to enter this game. By entering this game, they are not only getting themselves involved but also inflaming the region."

Regarding Tehran's warnings to Washington, Velayatmadar said: "We told the Americans that if there is to be a disruption to the passage of Iranian ships in the Persian Gulf and our waters, America itself will suffer the most. We are not complacent; we will retaliate, and if the other side makes a mistake, our red line will be broken and we will strike a hard blow."

A member of the National Security Commission of the Parliament, analyzing the economic consequences of the relative return of some currencies to the volume of international transactions, said: Recently, the Chinese yuan has been highlighted against the dollar. This could be the beginning of the collapse of the US economic hegemony. The Americans are terrified of this situation and are struggling in every direction; therefore, if they enter into confrontation in the region and are hit by us, the situation will be much more difficult for them.

He emphasized: We need greater synergy and coordination in the region; strengthening relations with neighboring countries and creating joint security mechanisms is the best response we can give to foreign interventions. Any attempt to create division or weaken regional integration will end up in the interests of foreigners. Therefore, active diplomacy and bilateral and multilateral cooperation should be on the agenda.
