Situation in the War-Torn City of Fashir Is Catastrophic

TEHRAN (Defapress) - During its first visit to the war-torn city of Fashir in North Darfur, Sudan, the UN mission reported on the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the region, according to Sputnik.

The mission's report states that the remaining civilians in the city are living in unsafe and inhumane conditions.

The city fell into the hands of the RSF last October after a 500-day siege, and many crimes were committed against its residents.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan stated that the city has become a crime scene. Sudanese people in Fashir live under plastic sheets without water and sanitation.

In April 2023, violent and widespread clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF began in different parts of the country.
