TEHRAN (Defapress) - According to Al Jazeera, the UN Humanitarian Office in Sudan wrote in a report published on X that Sudan’s violence has exacerbated the humanitarian situation for residents besieged in Kordofan city. The statement called for the protection of Sudanese civilians.

Local organizations had previously warned of an imminent health and humanitarian catastrophe in El-Dilling, while the RSF continues to besiege and bombard the city heavily.
The towns of El-Dilling and Kadugli have been under siege and repeated attacks since the first months of the war. Heavy clashes are currently underway between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in three Kordofan states.
In this regard, the German news agency reported, citing Sudanese media, that the RSF has detained around 600 women, some of them with their children, in a prison in Nyala, South Darfur state. The human conditions of these people are very serious due to the prolonged detention and the lack of water and food.
According to the report, the detainees face charges of espionage or collaboration with the army, while others have been detained for refusing to join the RSF.
Sudan has witnessed a bloody war between the army and the Rapid Reaction Forces since April 2023, which has killed thousands and displaced millions. This comes amid growing warnings of an intensifying humanitarian crisis and a spread of violence in the country.
