Riyadh Should End the Siege Instead of Projecting
TEHRAN (Defapress) - Al-Masirah TV quoted a Yemeni Defense Ministry official as saying in an interview with Saba news agency that the statements by the Saudi Defense and Foreign Ministries were an attempt to cover up the failure of the country’s systems to detect Yemeni drones.
He stated that Yemen has been patient in the face of repeated violations by Saudi Arabia during the period of de-escalation in recent years.
The source added that Saudi Arabia must respect Yemen’s sovereignty and independence and accept responsibility for the consequences of any violations it commits.
He also emphasized that Saudi Arabia must end the siege on the Yemeni people by opening airports and ports and facilitating trade.
The source finally called for the release of prisoners, respect for Yemeni sovereignty, and the possibility for the Yemeni people to exploit their country's resources and wealth to pay their salaries and provide services.
Dhaifallah Al-Shami, a member of the political bureau of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, also said that the recent statements by Saudi officials indicate the country's confusion after the attacks by Yemeni armed forces on Jizan and Yanbu.
He also announced that Saudi Arabia's accusations of Iran and other parties are an attempt to evade its responsibility for the siege of Yemen.
Al-Shami continued by calling the statements by Saudi officials that the attack on the country's oil facilities originated in Iraq an unsuccessful attempt to pressure the Iraqi government in the case of weapons for resistance groups, in line with the US approach and similar to what is happening in Lebanon.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, also announced that the aggressive bombing of Yemen by the US and Saudi Arabia and the long-term siege could not prevent our people and forces from defending and developing.
He warned Saudi officials: "The longer the battle lasts, the stronger and more advanced we become, and our promise to the enemies is a heavy defeat."
